The Heart Spoken Project
     In creating unique support groups for parents, the Heart Spoken mission is to bring parents, care givers, and children, living and loving within the autism spectrum, together in a way that focuses on the heart rather than the mind. Gray Center

Therapies
Pivotal Response Training (PRT)
     Pivotal Response Training (PRT) is a behavioral treatment intervention based on the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA). Researchers have identified two pivotal behaviors that affect a wide range of behaviors in children with autism.

American Hippotherapy Association
     Hippotherapy is a treatment that uses the multidimensional movement of the horse; from the Greek word "hippos" which means horse. Specially trained physical, occupational and speech therapists use this medical treatment for clients who have movement dysfunction. Historically, the therapeutic benefits of the horse were recognized as early as 460 BC. The use of the horse as therapy evolved throughout Europe, the United States and Canada.

Auditory Integration Training Services
     Berard Auditory Integration Training or Berard AIT was developed by Dr. Guy Berard, an otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat or ENT physician) in Annecy, France. Dr. Guy Berard originally invented AIT to rehabilitate disorders of the auditory system, such as hearing loss or hearing distortion (hypersensitive, hyposensitive, or asymmetrical hearing).

     The Lovaas Institute provides behavioral treatment utilizing the principles of applied behavior analysis. The Lovaas Model of Applied Behavior Analysis has undergone rigorous research at UCLA under the direction of Dr. Lovaas, proving its effectiveness in treating children with autism.

Introduction to TEACCH
     TEACCH is an evidence-based service, training, and research program for individuals of all ages and skill levels with autism spectrum disorders. Established in the early 1970s by Eric Schopler and colleagues, the TEACCH program has worked with thousands of individuals with autism spectrum disorders and their families.

The Tomatis Method
     The Tomatis Method is not a cure for autism. We cannot perform miracles, and we do not promise them. However, our listening therapy can greatly improve the life of many autistic people, by attenuating the symptoms. It is often used in conjunction with other therapies.

Therapeutic Listening®
     An evidence-backed protocol that combines a sound-based intervention with sensory integrative activities to create a comprehensive program that is effective for diverse populations with sensory challenges.
